Re: Suzuki Jimny flips in swedish moose test

I believe there was a similar incident in the U.S. back in the 80's with the Suzuki Samurai... apparently they didn't learn anything from it.
Then again, I suppose the only way to prevent something like the Jimny from flipping would be to fit it with some sort of hyperactive ESP.

Re: Suzuki Jimny flips in swedish moose test

A lot of people were killed with Suzuki Samurai in Europe especially in UK. I remember the newspaper articles saying how dangerous car it was.

Actually there is an even more dangerous car than Jimny, the previous Daihatsu Terios:

Very tall and narrow.

At least the Japanese could had used ESP on that cars but they don't seem to care too much about safety.

My dad has one of these cars, though in Perodua guise... I've driven it before and yes, the sensation of toppling over is pretty great if you treat it like a conventional SUV.

Re: Suzuki Jimny flips in swedish moose test

I have driven the Jimny and it's a hell of a crappy car. As for the driving dynamics? Just very bad. It's no surprice to me that it failed this test...

Top Secret will become famous soon enough
Re: Suzuki Jimny flips in swedish moose test

I'm not really suprised, the Suzuki Jimny is around 5 or so years old.

No offence taken... It's just a runabout for our house in M'sia.
