2009 Acura TL Test Mule Spotted

A prototype of the all-new Acura TL that is expected to be introduced at either this November's Los Angeles Auto Show or the Detroit Show in January 2009 was caught by a member of the VTEC website performing road tests in Purdue, Indiana. The cameraphone pictures reveal a few details of the TL’s body including the weird looking rear-end that seems to be inspired from the shape of Acura’s new trapezoidal grille.

Design aside, according to rumors that were leaked out of recent dealer meeting back in the spring, the new Acura TL’s line-up is expected to include a 3.5-liter V6 engine available in both front and all-wheel-drive versions along with a top-end 3.7-liter V6 producing more than 300Hp combined exclusively with an all-wheel-drive powertrain. Sales of the new Acura TL are expected to start in North America during the first half of 2009.

This car is going to be really, really ugly. I see a rip-off 5-Series and Lexus GS from the back and sides. Another ugly, forgettable Acura loaded with real-time traffic capability, but no personality, or looks whatsoever. I wonder if this TL will get a passenger side seat that can be adjusted for height like every other "luxury" car. I loved Acuras back in the day of the original Legends, but they're beyond lame at this point.

First Image of All-New 2009 Acura TL Released

This fall will see the unveiling of the all-new 2009 Acura TL and to whet our apetites in anticipation Honda has presented us with the first image. The 2009 model will be powered by the most powerful engine ever to bless the TL , rumours state this could be the 300-horsepower 3.7L already found in the RL and MDX.

Two versions of the model will be available starting with the FWD base model which will probably be powered by 280-horsepower 3.5L and a high spec Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) version powered by the afore mentioned 3.7-liter engine.

Look, what mess & shit can be done with improper use of flame surfacing.
Now everybody will start to consider Bangle BMWs as tasteful, classy & elegant. And even admit Bangle has some (normal) taste after all.

And the Acura RL is not the first car of failed FS technique. FS is a very expressive detail, and if used too excessively the car looks like a mess & cheezy.

And now most car makes going towards FS styling theme, the 1st generation of FSed BMWs will look moder even in the next 10 years. Just brilliant!
