Ahh... I think Acura has been following this "Evil Robo-Empire" theme down a dark corridor from which there's no escape. Really, I don't think this car looks that bad - there's lots of strong points and I think the car will have a more striking impression in person...
But lots of the details seem to be crashing into each other and the result is very car that wants to appear very fluid, powerful and dynamic, but instead looks very stiff and blocky. The flare above the front wheel arch is particularly difficult - The car would be a complete bore without it, but it seems... almost crazy. Are we trying to emphasize the FWD aspect of the car or what's the deal here?
It's a shame. Acura has been in a styling quagmire for a while, and this doesn't really change things. Lexus has found itself via L-Finesse and has managed to execute the exterior design of its entire line with a good degree of maturity. Acura has developed a blind spot in its identity and can't seem to shake it.

Ok, when the new Maxima was presented I nearly threw up. Then I saw it in person and it is actually not a bad looking car, but this thing here my god is it it ugly. All that Chrome and what not, front and rear is just too much. I really don't think this will look any better in person, its just gawd awful.
