The front looks awesome though. Bet it will look good in Black and darker colors...

I don't get what the blackened strip on the back glass is all about either?

the rear reminds me of a Lincoln. I think Jaguar will lose their traditional clients and get a younger clientele and probably people away from an Audi.

I'm not sure what they were thinking with the C Pillar though....

Could be really a competitor to the germans - especially with the new diesel engines up top 275 hp and petrols with 510!!

The black C-pillar makes it look like Jaguar is trying too hard to be some sort of a design leader by doing something no one else has done.....and for good reason: It just doesn't make sense. I'll wait for more photo's to spill before I say anything more.

Front looks fantastic, but they botched the rear. Which is a pity, cause XF has a beautiful rear - I guess they felt compelled to make it different.

So this is it. The car the UK media have been trumpeting for the past couple of years , reaching almost hysteria levels which the european motoring press dont seem to share? (Jaguar XFR outdrives and outclasses new E63 AMG (Autocar)) Is it Patriotism? or Sympathy?

The front is the only part that looks interesting, the rear is a mixture of Lancia Thesis a car that is sexually a turn off like Berlusconi and practically kept within Italy.
And do I see a mild interpretation of a Bangle Butt (actually it was design by ADV) which suggests packaging problems.

So much for all the teasers and fluff talk. They got the front-end smack on the nail, it's wonderful. But the rear end makes Ian Culum the captain of fail. It's utterly disastrous and it's evident that they went out of line in trying to design something "revolutionary. Those vertical tail lights don't fit the car at all, especially when the car has a tall and boxy rear end with an unattractive tail gate. The rear looks too Korean, but let's wait for some more photos. What is it with British car manufacturers over complicating designs this year; the RR Ghost, new Bentley Arnage and now the new XJ?????

The Brits are known for being rather nationalistic in their view of the auto industry favoring domestic products over all other available alternatives from competing manufactures of other origin. This blind patriotism seems to be deeply ingrained in Brit automotive journalism and its rather unfortunate as it undermines the credibility of their writing.
