Nahh...people specifically buy the M5 because it's a racer plus to a random person on the street it looks like a 5er, doesn't stand out as a Jaguar. The RS6 and E63 are also wannabe racers. Just look at all the videos of the Germans racing on circuits and against other cars. This cat will not be a part of those shenanigans.

Thanks for posting, that just made my day! Looks great to me (how could they mess it up anyway, it looks too good ). I'll take this big cat over any of the Germans anyday!

I like it, and thank goodness they did something about the little, flat seats of the standard car.

Wow. Is Jag gonna share this new engine with anyone else? Must have been quite expensive to develop it just for its own R range... Unless Tata has really injected enough funds into it for such development.

This engine is going to the Range Rover as well.

re: Jaguar XF-R Official Thread

Thats a good question. I read it was new and then read that it was just and enlarged version of the old 4.2, so I'd say that it is a heavily revised, reworked, and enlarged version of the old engine. Fitting direct injection takes a tad bit of work.

Well IMO the M5 doesn't look like a normal 5er at all,maybe coz i'm a car nutt

But i still hold my thoughts about this Jag,the car is born weak and underpowered and in that segment it's all about prestige and power, there's a reason why MB have insane AMG engines

Since when was 510hp and 481lb.ft underpowered? It is probably lighter than the Germans, seeing as it is all-aluminium (unlike the M5, E63 and CTS-V) and RWD (unlike the Audi) and I am pretty sure it will be quicker than at least the Mercedes and BMW. Are you saying the M5 is weak, seeing as it is down 3hp and ~100lb.ft, or the E63, which has roughly equal output and torque? If so, the power war has definitely got out of hand IMO, all five cars are comfortably more powerful than an F40 and all have roughly the same or more power than an F50, is that not enough for buyers? I cannot envisage a significant number of people saying 510hp is not enough, and that they must have at least 550hp. I doubt that many potential buyers will care about which car has most horsepower, all 5 have many more important defining characteristics, such as ride, handling, design, space, who cares how far past 500hp your super saloon outputs?
