Although the front lights could have been better, I'm very pleased with the final product overall. The rear somewhat resembles Aston but that's not a bad thing. The profile of the car is very sleek and you can easily see the big cat in the body lines. The interior is a bullseye with the ultra-modern and high-quality look. The gear selector is one of the unique things that Jag needs to distinguish itself from the competition. I believe this car has the potential to considerably ease Jag's financial problems. |

There are those who love it and there those who don't like it. I don't think it's ugly. It's just too rounded and bland to save Jaguar. It should look striking like the XF-Concept, but sadly it turned out not be. It doesn't look nothing like the Concept version. What it does look like, is a mix of: The grille: ![]() The headlights ![]() The profile: ![]() The rear:

There's a few week angles, where you just know that this car could use more drama. For instance, the front 3/4 looks a bit wimpy - you sense as though the grille needs more strength. You also get the feeling like you could kill for a pronounced rear fender a la Rapide or Concept CS. But on the whole - this car was made to fight the 5er, GS, TL, A6 and E-Klasse in a way that's distinctly Jaguar, yet at the same time, must set a new paradigm for the brand with styling that stands apart from the crowd. I'm not giving a standing ovation here, but I am saying mission accompoished. The interior scheme is refereshing too. However, as was my impression with the XK, I'm sure corners were cut and some of the finishing looks like it'll be less than flattering in real life. Nonetheless, this is the car that Jaugar has desperately needed for the past 3 years. Hopefully it's a contender on the road as it is in photos. If the car is able to hold up well in the press, then I'm optimistic about its future prospects. I am, however, less than bullish about its long-term viability. Jaguar still lacks the ability to be more than a fashion car. In reality, I'd say that the XF is more of a genuine sales contender to the Benz CLS than any other car. The personality profile of both buyers is very much in line, which also means that when the XF is no longer hot potato sales will slump hard. We'll see. I have my hopes up for this car. If it's wearing some really sexy alloys, then all the better I think.

I just wish that Ford presented it in a dark colour like Racing green or ocean blue to show off all the chrome details. BTW all that silver stuff in the interior better be aluminum or else I'll be very disappointed, because I know that Ford love shortcuts when it comes to quality and materials. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
