And who says Mercedes' "isn't good at handling / can't build a good handling car"? THEY CAN. Except they generally focus on a target audience that doesn't place that much emphasis on sport or handling, this is especially true once you reach cars like the S-Class, CL-Class etc., yet these cars still handle pretty well for their size and weight. I've driven the W221 S-Class and for a big heavy car, it handles like a lightweight. The W220 S-Class felt like a boat in comparison to the W221 - and the W220 was often praised as the first S-Class with "great handling qualities".

Also, at the end of the day, how many people actually will need razor sharp handling? An Audi A4, BMW 3er and MB C-Class all can take that curve in the road ahead. Drive them on the track, and that's where the weaknesses or strengths start to show.

I never said that Mercedes couldn't built good handling, I'm not sure if that part of your post was directed at me or not, but if it was you misunderstood my post!

I understood your post, but I just wanted to make it clear that modern Mercedes' handle pretty well.

People just like to exagerate a lot. For daily driving, your typical Audi, BMW or Benz will handle just fine in almost every situation. Once you drive a little more extreme, then the differences become apparent.
