Re: [scans] AMS: Test of 11 diesel medium sized sedans

1. BMW 320d

The BMW is really good in all categorys! He is the winner of the brake test, is comfortable, very safe and handy.

2. Mercedes C 220 CDI

This car is very comfortable! The handling is very good and the C-Class wins the light and the all-round vision test. Annoying: the high price

3. Audi A4 2.0 TDI

The Audi afford a lot of driving pleasure. Although this car is not as good as the Mercedes or the BMW.

4. VW Passat 2.0 TDI

The Passat is a miracle of space. The very good suspension and the car body are perfect. The engine is grumpy and the consumption unreasonable.

Re: [scans] AMS: Test of 11 diesel medium sized sedans

Passat and A4 were tested with the old engine with 140 hp and not with the new one with 170 hp. Can someone explain why?

Maybe because they weren't out when they did this test. This is a test from AMS 21/2005.

Oh right. Old test with old engines therefore result doesn't count.

Re: [scans] AMS: Test of 11 diesel medium sized sedans

BTW can someone tell me why the Passat has the same points for the space in the rear seat with 3 series. Everyone who has been in both cars knows that is wrong.

Yes you are right. When an engine is replaced it doesn't really matter.

I will stick with Swedish AM&S test with up to date cars where Passat won.

These "old engines" are still in the VW/Audi program. The 2.0TDI engine exist in two versons 140hp/320Nm and 170hp/350Nm.
