Auto Motor und Sport - Tuned Turbo's

It's 9ff T-2 vs Gemballa GT550 vs Speedart TTR 530 vs Techart Turbo vs Wendland 997 Turbo

also new this year, there is quite a number of tuned Porsche 997 Turbo

9ff T-2:
535 PS at 6550 rpm
740 Nm at 3250 rpm
1579 kg
338.82 bhp/ton
0-100 km/h in 3.4 secs.
0-200 km/h in 11.2 secs.
18m slalom at 66.9 km/h
LŽAnneau du Rhinin 1:28.70 mins.

even though it is not the most powerful, it accelerates the best!

Gemballa GT550:
550 PS at 6100 rpm
780 Nm at 2050 rpm
1620 kg
339.51 bhp/ton
0-100 km/h in 3.5 secs.
0-200 km/h in 11.6 secs.
18m slalom at 67.0 km/h
LŽAnneau du Rhin: 1:28.90 mins.

pretty ggod handling in the 18m slalon but losing some 10ths at the track due to oversteer

Speedart TTR 530:
530 PS at 6100 rpm
730 Nm at 2100 rpm
1604 kg
330.42 bhp/ton
0-100 km/h in 3.6 secs.
0-200 km/h in 11.8 secs.
18m slalom at 67.9 km/h
LŽAnneau du Rhin: 1:28.20 mins.

the lowered suspension is top at the track but to low for country roads

Techart Turbo:
580 PS at 6000 rpm
700 Nm at 4850 rpm
1617 kg
358.69 bhp/ton
0-100 km/h in 3.6 secs.
0-200 km/h in 11.7 secs.
18m slalom at 66.0 km/h
LŽAnneau du Rhin: 1:28.60 mins.

expensive high-rev engine, not well responding to the throttle

Wendland 997 Turbo:
530 PS at 6250 rpm
730 Nm at 2000 rpm
1568 kg
338.01 bhp/ton
0-100 km/h in 3.5 secs.
0-200 km/h in 11.7 secs.
18m slalom at 67.4 km/h
LŽAnneau du Rhin: 1:28.20 mins.

understatement pure, not as aggressively looking as the others but best on track and in handling

997 Turbo (series):
480 PS at 6000 rpm
620 Nm at 1950 rpm
1583 kg
303.22 bhp/ton
0-100 km/h in 3.7 secs.
0-200 km/h in 12.3 secs.
18m slalom at 68.2 km/h
LŽAnneau du Rhin: n/a

well balanced, hamronic, no turbo lag

verdict: Is tuning of the 997 Turbo neccesary?
Bringing this all togehter, these tuned Porsches give some idea what a new GT2 could be. So these are as useful as a 997 GT2 would be. also new this year be.

Re: Sport Auto - Tuned Turbo's

This is actually in the latest Auto Motor und Sport. I forgot to mention it because it's towards the end and wasn't properly mentioned in the index. They just said "Porsche 911 Turbo".
