AutoBild: Audi S6 vs BMW M5 vs MB E63 AMG

1st place: MB E63 AMG
2nd place: Audi S6
3rd place: BMW M5

E63 is best all-roundner - offering best balance between comfortable & sporty driving. Best engine sound. The most powerful engine, with mos proper transmission. Chasis & steering not as precise as M5, nor stabile like S6.

S6 has very good chasis offering ultra-strong grip & traction (especially in long & fast curves) due quattro, but is not fun to drive in short curves due to quattro & weight. Gearbox is good, but brakes are weak and suspension uncomfortable.

M5 has the sportiest engine, very fine tuned chasis offering best driving dynamic, the most precise steering. Best car for curves. 3rd place due SMG & iDrive (SMG too jerky & unfriendly for daily ride, 7-speed manual mode an over-kill, too many complicated settings: POWER, EDC, DSC & SMG; unintuitive iDrive).

This is the same result as the Automobile comparo which is why it seems familiar.

M5 last again? That's a surprise.

Kudos to E63 , seems like Mercedes made a winner this time.

Re: AutoBild: Audi S6 vs BMW M5 vs MB E63 AMG

lol same pics as Automobile and exact same comments as automobiel. weird

here are acc times, surprised to see that E63 once again is a lot slower than M5 to 200km/h. E63 seem to be very close to E55 as well.

s6/m5/e63
0–100 km/h 5,4 s 4,7 s 4,5 s
0–130 km/h 8,2 s 6,9 s 6,9 s
0–160 km/h 11,6 s 9,4 s 9,7 s
0–200 km/h 18,0 s 13,5 s 15,0 s

I wonder what mbworld.org think about this

Mercedes fans used to have an obsesion some time ago with 0-xxx km/h times. Now i see some BMW fans to have the same. What is the meaning of a 0-200 km/h run in real life?

I have never posted 0-100 or 0-200 km/h times for any car all these years cause they mean nothing. Moving acceleration numbers are much more important in real life.

im with you that 0-XXX isnt much important. I care more about rolling starts from lets say 60-90km/h, 80-160km/h and 100-200km/h. But mostly I care about the car that makes me smile the most regarding acceleration, 550i, E500 and A6 4.2 is more than enough for 99% of the people out there but they arent rewarding to drive like a M, AMG or a RS. But you know how it is between us fanboys, we do like to brag about acceleration times and laptimes.

To tell you the truth, M5, E63 and S6 are too large cars for me. the perfect size is a M3, RS4 and C55 and would choose them over the big brothers anyday. Besides they are more fun to play with. Until the new M3 V8 comes, RS4 is my choice
