Sportauto: BMW M5 vs Audi S6

short verdict:

The more powerful and lighter BMW 5 easily wins that comaprison with 49/37 (out of 60) pts. The S6 loses against the M5 as the (Lamborghini) V10 si limited to just 435 bhp and the S6 weighs about 150 kgs more than the M5.

S6: 435 PS / 2003 kg = 217 PS/ton
M5: 507 PS / 1858 kg = 273 PS/ton

So the M5 beats the S6 in all aspects, it is the much sportier and better to drive, the S6 is perfect grand tourer with a lot of power and a pretty good handling due to the permanent 4WD.

S6: 172 EUR/PS
M5: 174 EUR/PS

M5 / S6
0-100km/h 4.7 / 5.9
0-200km/h 14.4 / 19.8
18 meter slalom: 66,6km/h 63,9 km/h

Hockenheim 1.16,3 min 1.18,3 min

0 to 200 times are incredibly crapy.
Also those track times you've placed them on the wrong sides.

Wow, ouch S6. They would be better off just calling the car A6 5.0 or something imo.

Re: Sportauto: BMW M5 vs Audi S6

If you look at their scoring system, the result is hardly surprising. I don't think anyone expected the S6 to be quicker than the M5 around a track or a slalom course. I'm quite certain other magazines will have different emphasis and thus, a different result.

As the name Sportauto says, the winner is baised on the sportiest car, laptimes, acceleration, driving feedback, feelings and emotions are Sportautos priority.
When thats the priority , a car like S6 dont stand a chance. Sportauto simply is the best sportcarmagazine today. Unfortuanly only in german

Sportauto is far away from AMS and Autobild, not a single thing in common.

So sportauto means BMW and Porsche victories, the rest MB and Audi cause they're better all rounders.

BMW often wins but it has lost as well.

Re: Sportauto: BMW M5 vs Audi S6

Audi has completely lost the plot with the S cars. I had a B5 S4, the last good S car, a great affordable alternative to M3. After that they all became these fat ass crusisers and you have to spend way more for a RS to get a really sporty Audi.
