I mean if the BMW doesn't have the usual BMW road qualities what else does it have on the Jaguar. Well besides styling preferences? What else would make the BMW superior? Just asking. M

He loves his car, its more important that the owners like their cars than what some carreviewers think. Carjournalists dont decide for you. I think some of you take this carreview (or others) too serious. Yes, the 650i didnt do well in this review so BMWfans cant be bragging about the result but it doesnt mean 650i is a bad car. Some people love the car and some people hate the car. Live with it!! My choice stand between 650i or SL. 997 is a sportcar, I would never buy a Porsche Convertible. Convertibles are meant for cruising and enjoying the weather. Sport and Convertible dont mix good together IMO. Thats why I never would buy a BMW M Convertible.

Trust me, the 6 series is waaaayyy more sportier than a XK, or an SL. the previous article was mentioned with the 645 against the SL, well everybody knows the SL was a heavy cornerer and not the most agile of roadsters. More of a cruiser. That alone says to me " this magazine is full of shit and propably run by Jürgen Schremp himself"I can accept the Carrera in front, it is a smaller more nimble car, maybe the SL if the FL did that much good. But that's it. Nothing more. Whoever says different just doesn't know his cars.

However I think that you both are missing the point of the article, which was to find the best overall car of the group. In the luxury GT class it isn't just about handling which is what BMW's are usually about, hence it didn't win here. Neither did the Porsche which we know will easily outhandle a SL. Secondly who here has driven the facelifted SL yet? If another magazine can get a SL55 around a track faster than a M6 why is it so impossible for a facelifted SL550 to be able to truly have some handling capability. I swear you BMW fanatics sometime don't understand anything else. This article is now idotic, yet when BMW wins one (which they almost always do with Car and Driver) you'd be praising this publication. The luxury GT class is about the best overall experience and if the BMW doesn't bring the sport equation to the table in abundance the others have all the luxury and other things that people look for. BMW has never had an answer for the SL. This magazine that is full of "shit" loves BMWs and the new 3-Series and previous generation 5-Series won every single comparo they ever had, but since they don't pic a 650i over a SL, they're idiots? That is rediculous to say the least. Nobody here is saying that the SL is a better handler than anything, at least I'm not, what I'm saying is that it won because it was the best all arounder of the group. Why is that so hard for BMW fanatics to grasp? M
