didn't they say anything about the design of the 5er, or now people accepted the Bangle way of designing cars?

BTW, i also agree that the E-class is starting to show it's age. I don't say that it doesn't look good though...

The point wasn't if it looks nice or ugly, it was if it looks modern/fresh or old.
The 5er or A6 loved or hated (bangle, big grille) look new(er).

Well, then E220 would have been the only car with a 4-cylinder engine. So the ideal comparison would have been either A6 2.0 TDI vs. 520d vs. E 220CDI or A6 2.7 TDI vs. 525d vs. E 280 CDI.
