Audi A6 is first in sales in Germany (in this segment) as you can see in the other thread so the Germans have decided which car is the best.

I wouldn't always say sales figures always so how good a car is, the Corsa used to be the best selling car in the UK, and now it's the Focus!

I have that same issue at home. The E500 apparently also had the more "direct steering feel" according to the testers and was more comfortable and capable enough of sporty driving. The 7Gtronic was slightly more responsive than the BMW 6-speed A/T.
