![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Cooper vs. G35 Last night my friends and I were racing around through the twisties. One of them owns a Cooper and another kid i know owns a G35. Anyway I was with the guy in the cooper and we were keeping up with the 298 hp G35 with ease through the bends. We were pressuring him so much that he lost control of his car and oversteered right into a curb (I think he needs stronger antisway bars). He screwed his brand new Rims on one side and has to replace them. I feel bad for him but.....He is kind of an ass hole. He brags about his great shifting and was talking Sh*t about the mini so I guess you could say its bad karma.........I say its bad driving!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Cooper vs. G35 Well, duh...the MINI won. For those who do not know MINI history, here goes a little piece: When the Mini (Austin Seven (Mini)/Morris Mini Minor) was out, from the very first moment its Go Kart capabilities were spoted. As a result Cooper (F1 CC in 1959 and 1960) was contracted to make race versions: the Mini Cooper's (S). after winning some rallyies, the BMC entered them in the Monte Carlo Rally. Despite the fact that the big and far more powerfull Ford Falcons were favorite the Mini won. And it won again 1965, and again in 1966 (unfairly desqualified) and in 1967 (revenge was sweet). They've also won the European Touring Car Championship. But the point is that the big(ger) and (far) more powerfull sedans from Ford, Volvo, Saab, Mercedes - Benz and BMW, and even some Porsches (the 356 C I belive) were equalled or bested, even to the point of humiliation by the agile little Mini Coopers. So no suprise here. |
