These magazines which supposedly "know everything about cars" flame the CLS55 AMG!? Hello, check out AMG's philosophy on their website and then hopefully you'll understand. AMG = super fast comfortable long distance cruiser Mercedes-Benz. I put Mercedes-Benz in bold because AMG still sticks to traditional Mercedes values like comfort for example. Of course the steering feel will be slightly vague as it helps control the car at a more relaxed pace at high speeds on the Autobahn etc. If these guys want the best AMG track cars, from what I've read, it goes something like this (in this order): 1) SLK55 AMG 2) CLK55 AMG 3) SL55 AMG

If they wanted a sportier car than M5 they could taken M6 or M3 CSL. The M5 and the CLS55 are compared to each others but they dont belong in this gang cause they are different type of cars but since it the latest and sportiest car from each carbrand they having them in this comparison. If the CLS55 wasnt in this test then they wouldnt have the M5 here either. This test wasnt just about laptimes, just like it says, "best drivers car 2005". Its too much focus on what car that should be here or not. Its just a fun and entertaining and also not a common cartest. Just take it for what it is.
