Whats your thoughts or predictions of the E63 AMG. Do you believe MB has made a real compeditor to the M5 this time with all the new enhancements?

Mercedes says "This top of the line E-Class model occupies the leading position in its segment, where no other vehicle has more output, torque or displacement. The E63 also benefits from from all the face/lifted E-Class enhancements. 2000 parts are new and have been enhanced
All f/l E-Class models feature Pre-Safe as standard. No other car in it`s class
offers this excellent safty feature. The SBC brakes have been droped.

The E63 comes with Direct-Control, This package offers a 10% faster steering
and Retuned AirmaticDCII suspension with better brakes.

Is all this enough to take on the M5?

E63 = drag racer
M5 = F1 car w/ four doors

You dont believe the E63 will be a better handler this time? it better.
2000 improved parts is quit a bit.

I think it will accelerate faster than M5 and handles as well as M5. But the real question is, will the driving experience and driving connection/feeling to the driver be in class with M5? Time will tell us all one day.

well in a straight line it will smoke the M5..
and around the track..thats where it gets tricky..
lets say that i belive that the M5 is still faster.. but i wouldnt be surprised if the E63 comes on top..
after reading about that FL SL55 beating the M6.. anything is possible..

What I don't understand is why didn't MB go with wider tires this time around.

that may very well end up being the case, however I really don't expect much to change, at all.

I agree with the Artist. I also agree with Just_me about the "connected feel."

The M5 is pretty intelligent in that area. The E63 might come as a surprise though, I can`t wait for the tests to come in.

When is the facelift and improvements coming for the 5er?

Thats a good question. From the pics it looks like the M5`s rear tires are wider. If your spending this much money on a car wheel and tire upgrades shouldn`t be a problem.
