The best thing about this result is the psychological effect. I hope it will help alleviate the somewhat negative trend with MB's image that had been developing for various reasons. Of course one positive thing won't turn around a persistent trend but at least it's a step to the right direction.

No, thay sure don`t. However the CLS55 has an improved version of Airmatic.
The CLS55 has much better body control than it`s brother the E55.

ABC is very effective but is also heavier and more expensive than Airmatic.

When the E63 comes along expect much better performance with a faster
reacting (AirmaticII) suspension and quicker steering bits with better brakes!
The CLS63 will be just as stunning.

Well yeah, but remember it`s still using the 5-speed. If the G7 was used, look out man! Still 13 seconds is quit impressive seeing the SL55 has two less gears than the M6.

Actually, this wasn't all that surprising to me. I already knew the pre-facelifted SL was a good handler and a very underated car. So with all the improvements Mercedes announced with their press release I was expecting quite a car, and it delivered. Now will the S65 come with ABC version 2?

yep S65 comes with ABCII and floating disc brakes..
