Makes sense. With me it I guess it depends on the actually type of vehicle it is. For the most part MB is my first choice. Of course I would mind having all these flagship cars.

I can appreciate the looks of the 7 series, but small cars like the 3 series have no appeal to me. Then again I still like other cars like Infiniti, Lincoln, Bentley, Acura etc. I've never been stuck to one car company even though I promote MB more so then the rest.

Yeah - you've definitely got that big car thing going. It's just what HighestofHigh's always been about.

Me? Well I wouldn't say I'm the opposite but generally speaking I care less for this exact category.

A8 vs. 7er vs. S-Klasse? I'm totally non-fussed by the outcome. Whilst I appreciate all the tech, luxury, excess, comfort and so on... these cars do not engage the driver's spirit in me. They're just too removed from the action.

Depends on how you drive them. I felt more action behind the 7 series (previous model) then the 3 series.

True, but I wonder what will happen when the new A8 arrives.

Ok I `m guilty of just having read the article yesterday because of my hecktic
work schedule. It`s seems the newer BMW models (like the new Z4 and new 7er) are lacking a little in the compeditive driving experience. This is not the first time I`ve read "complaints" or more luxury-oriented experiences than what really expected of the newer BMWs.

Quote:
Yet off the clock the BMW pleased none of us. Throttle and transmission response is herky-jerky, thwarting all attempts to impress your passengers with your driving smoothness-and at the same time damping your enthusiasm. Steering feel is just...okay (our test car did not have the optional Active Steering). The chassis, despite those whiz-bang adaptive shocks and all that processing power, fails at both handling poise and ride comfort. The dour interior doesn't delight the eyes or your tactile senses. Our test car even emitted an annoying background fan or gear whine that seemed to follow throttle movements. This from a $105,370 luxury sedan -- and a brand-new design at that?

Summed up senior editor Ed Loh in the logbook: "No question the BMW is a fast, fast getaway sedan -- the one you want when you're carting a boatload of dough out of Terry Benedict's casino. Squash the gas pedal and the big 7 just goes and goes. The problem is, that's about all it does. Its lazy throttle response, turbo lag -- whatever the problem is -- kneecaps the car in situations when full throttle isn't required (99 percent of the time).

GTA, who knows...maybe they want the 7 series to drive more like the S-class and go more for comfort.

The previous 7 series was drove rather sporty, but it was still very comfortable IMO.
