![]() ![]() | I would take the S anyday. As for the 7 i think the front is bland and that pig nose front is crap when you see it in real. The interior is nice but very simalar to x5 and x6 nothing special and quality not near the S just my views.I have seen a black and a white sevener i do like the titanioum type butons and gear lever finish. The cupholder quality was pathetic and the cover. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | unbelivable how much attention these car get on this board. Just over one night there are already 3 pages. The new 7-serie is huge improvement over previous 7-series but still I rather be driving a E90 335i or M3 over any of these cars. 3-series suit my personality the best. Today I spotted another black 750i and its no doubt in mind the new 7-series looks the best in traffic over the other two. Elegance and presence are the keywords for the new 7er.

Ok? TIA. Rest should avoid posting childish posts and putting oil on a fire, but rather comment on the subject of the thread. ![]() TIA. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | How's the new 7 doing sales wise? I haven't seen that many around here. When the S came out, it was EVERYWHERE! Must be the economy?

![]() | The thing with car journalists is that a car is not just the numbers. A car may have all the right features and numbers, but that won't make it shine in front of the others. Cars are like people, they have a personality, a feel, that special something. If it wasn't for this we would all drive the same cars in the same segments. People go test-driving and walk away with different cars, so we shouldn't bash journalists for driving cars and saying which one they deem best. After all, that's their job. If not, why don't we all get the factsheets and declare a winner without driving them. Numbers don't reflect everything. That said, I love how the 7 looks and drives. ![]() Nelson MD |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ^ When people like you or me publish a drive report on a blog or in a community like this one - then everybody knows it's a personal & subjective report. But when media publish something many assume the reports are not personal & subjective - but rather professional & objective. Therefore people tend to trust media reports. Eg. we all know when eg. Jeremy Clarkson publish something that's his subjective opinion, and rather entertaining to read - and many don't take it seriously. But when media who call themselves "informative" publish article like the one in MT, then it's a highly questionable job - since it's misleading & don't give people the right info. Also the form is important. It's different if a journalist sys "I find the car rather boring" or "The car is rather boring" See the difference? Or "The car we tested produced strange engine noises" or "The new Hyundai Elantra tends to produce strange engine noises". Etc. Or "Pros & Cons" / "Highs" / "Lows" vs. "We likeed" / "We didn't like" Of course driving a car is a subjective & personal experience - based on personal preferences as well. But then the articles should be written in such way - to state clearly it's a personal & subjective matter. No problem. But many try to hide their personal opinion into form that tells readers those are really the objective facts. And that's just wrong. In this case, and in many others. It's not a professional journalism anymore. But some sort of infotainment - with strong personal / subjective input. But I'm also fine with that when a certain medium or a journalist admits what he is - not pretending to be objective & informative. But all the pretending & misleading is what I find very problematic. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | WE WON! MERCEDES-BENZ WON and this isn't even the face-lift! Outstanding pictures and article! That's why I pay my motortrend subcription on time. There one of the few magazines NOT on BMW payroll (JMO). On the other hand I am suprise to see the outdated A8 beat the new 7 series....that a big "wow". I love the photo with HER MAJESTY and the two runner ups - ![]()

Just like a football game or in your case SOCCER. When a team (sports) wins that you like...when you go to the bar afterwards....what is the FIRST thing you say? WE WON! In this case we (Mercedes-Benz Loyalist) are happy our team (Mercedes-Benz) won! Just like when BMW 3 series wins every 2 millions comparisons (especially Car and Driver). I'm sure you and your BMW buddies do the same thing.
