I'm a little bit disappointed with this new R8. So new, yet here we are first test and so beaten by a benchmark 2 year old car. The GT-R handled the Turbo for half the price too, quite well but the R8 falls short? It seems they focused to much on straight line performance and lack thereof in the V8 R8 so now with the V10 they did not pay attention to all the other aspects of the car so now when then car has the umph to match it's aggressive and bold look, it falls a bit short of the expectations for automotive perfection.

Yes very much so. To the Corvette ZR-1 and Viper SRT-10 driver watching the Turbo vanish in the rearview mirror due to their overwhelming and humiliating, crushing, colossal torque, he will think, ah yes, the 997 Turbo what a legend it sure was.

He might have meant the VW Beatle.

This one? Perhaps?
