A short précis of the group test:

BMW M5
- M5 continues to get down-marked for aging SMG III's two dimensional shift quality and the now dated looking interior. Ludicrous lack of range is another criticism.
+ Handling balance and driver interaction is the most involving here; S85 V10 continues to impress with its breathtaking urge above 6000 rpm.

Audi RS6
- Rides poorly - an obvious effect of that front axle having to suspend an entire V10 ahead of itself. Disconcerting handling traits, artificially heavy, feel-less steering.
+ Great cabin quality and ambience, storming straight line performance, good on-road presence, general ease of use.

Jaguar XFR
- Slightly fussy interior, perceived slow steering reaction on turn-in, middle-of-the-road approach makes it harder to differentiate it from competitors. Ugly, M5-aping tailpipes. Fussy stability control electronics.
+ Good throttle response, well-judged power delivery and real-world usability. Good handling balance and body control with predictable handling traits. Good overall cabin. Good looks. A great compromise in all disciplines.

Jaguar XFR gets 8.5 out 10 along with M5. RS6 gets 8.

XFR is eventual choice of the author.

I'm so glad they dissed the XFR's exhausts, looks terribly weak and old looking.

Would love to see the same cars done by AMS or AutoBild.
