Does Europe not get 535i?

As for the interior, I think it comes down to trim. In most tests, I like E better, cause it has that mat wood trim which I like. But in this test, with what looks like similar trim, I prefer 5er, just cause it actually has a gear lever - the center console looks kind of castrated with out one.

Because we have a 540i (V8 4.0l 306hp).

That is a prehistoric engine that, at least here in Sweden, hardly anyone picks when specing their new 5-series.

The 535i would have been an instant hit!

AMS tested the BMW 520d vs Mercedes E220CDI vs Audi A6 2.7TDI.

Here the BMW won, the Mercedes came second





I have to say that the E60 still loks great after all those years, and still competes well in every aspect with the new E and FL A6

You are wrong IMO. It's much more interesting to drive 5-er with N/A V8 than even 3-er with this R6 biturbo. V8 is always V8 with its incredible sound and NA torque.
