| They were not overwhelmed by the 220cdi at all: not silent, not that economical (the BMW does better, the Audi needs half a liter more), and the 5 speeds are too long, making the 400Nm feel like much less. So, they liked the 220cdi + 5 gear box of the Merc the least, the BMW the most, but the Audi won that chapter because it's just more powerful. The Audi had the optional air suspension, but couldn't convince: hesitates between comfort and sport. The Beemer was the sportiest, the merc the most comfortable (with the standard steel-suspension here). The Audi does understeer, too. The Merc is extremely comfortable, yet can be driven fast easily. You always feel in safe in it. The rear headrest are foldable. Its boot-hinges are however in the boot. Some options are very expensive because they only come as packages. The indicators of the Audi are almost invisible in daylight. Havin separate buttons to start and stop is stupid. The key is needed to fold the rear seats, good point against robbers. The interior of the Audi is ergonomic despite the many buttons; seats are hard. BMW offers the best finish, but the steering wheel is too thick, comfortable seats. Limited rear headroom. Merc's interior is very easy to live with, best seat comfort, lots of space. Rear seats are too inclined. The end of the test's missing

| Surprised to read that the 5er has the best interior finish, i heard so much complaints about it, i guess the FL did bring significative upgrade. EDit: WHat did they say about Idrive & co ?
