I'm pretty astonished that the 911 Turbo is faster around the track. Which one was it?

Me too. Given the success of the R8 V89 I anticipated that the V10 version would completely demolish the competition. So the fact that the Turbo comes on top is very shooking, especially when the facelift with 500hp and PDK is due in a few months.

997 TT beat the R8 with 0.5 seconds around their track. I dont know the name of the track.
The R8 was brand new and the Turbo already with some kilometers. Porsche also used less fuel than the Audi.

How much fuel did the Audi use?

ah, perfect this shows that the V10 version should not been existing.
R8 V8 was Audi range for great sportscars with "normal" engines for everyday traffic.

V10 belongs to Lambo...

Yes Audi did fail.
If only the V8 looked like the V12 TDI concept...

Great stuff Just_Me

Actually Audi didn't fail with the V10 version. It's just the same case as the M3. Both cars (E92 M3 and R8 V10) would be/ are better with two cylinders less!

This certainly makes the R8 V10 look very bad as the price point for the car is quite high. On top of that there is the dealers mark-up of 15-30k. The LP560 is certainly looking like car with best value out of the two cousins.

I am surprised too that the Turbo is faster than the R8 V10 considering that the Turbo is now sought of old and soon to get the facelift treatment. Might be cause of the R tronic - which is sought of rubbish and slower than a proper manual. Audi should have taken the trouble to develop a DSG for it considering they sought of pioneered it. So much for any hopes of showing GTR how to do it while looking good.
