It´s English Magazine, I´ve no read all the reviews of the wolrd, but most of the english reviews I read were all biased opinions, and always say thinks like "of course far form the XF interior" and so.

Anyway as a small consolation prize, there is a comparo in Automobile between the E-Class, 5-Series and A6 and the E-Class won.

I just read the issue today!
Yes the BMW won but not in all catagories. The journalists said the only reason why the Benz lost was because "it wasn`t quit as dynamic"



Thay said when pushed "the Benz is willing, the BMW is eager"

The S500 won on total powertrain points, ( engine flexiblity, fuel eco, Transmission)

The performance between the two cars is about a little more than a hairs difference. I was suprised!
The BMW is heavier a little faster but suffers from torbo-lag.

The journalists like the design of the S500s interior better which isn`t a surprise!

^I'm surprised to hear that about 7er's brand new TT V8? less flexible,more thirsty and transmission? weird.

About the very little difference in acceleration,yeah i've noticed that in many tests.Maybe that's why MB didn't bother to update the old V8

Funny becuase when german Autozeitung tested 750i vs S500 they were praising the fuel consumption for 750i which they didnt do with S500. Actually they gave a "+" for fuel consumption for 750i and "-" for S500. Remember that 750i have 408hp/600nm, more power (and probably more weight) than Sclass so fuel consumption should be worse than S-class with only 388hp.

Up to 60 mph 750i is probably not faster than S50 but the faster they go the quicker 750i must be.
How fast is the 750i 0-100mph and 0-120mph and acceleration in high gears compare to S500 according to C&D ?

I need to read this test myself so I can draw my own conclusions.

Yes, that is strange. The fuel economy round should be a sure win for the BMW.

Ok just read the article. The BMW is faster by like 1 tenth of a second in most areas. They have the same 1/4 mile speed, but the BMW gets there quicker by 2 tenths of a second. The Benz is quicker by 2 tenths of a second 5-60 mph due to an naturally aspirated engine, no turbo lag which they say the BMW shows a "hint" of.

Simply put the handling of the BMW on a back road is what put it over, hardly the purpose of these cars (which they acknowledge) which is why the S-Class wins for more buyers in the real world.

Overall a more than fair test.

I must say both cars are simply stunning to look at. The BMW in white is some real eye candy.
