Hey there - thanks for this... As per PM, I'd just read this article this morning...
The article is a must read for anyone interested in hot hatches. Harris has a lovely way of discussing the driver appeal of a car together with the more technical aspects of the mechanicals. The best bit is the interesting discussion on the Revo-knuckle suspension on the RS.

Remember my fears? Well they've been vindicated - the Focus RS is the King of the Hatches. Amazing to see what's been done with front-wheel drive. Subaru need to get their act together with the STI. First and foremost: ditch the 2.5 litre engine and bring back the hardcore 2.0 litre JDM mill. Beef up steering feel and stiffen the springs a tad more. I'm sure we'd see a better all-rounder STI.

Also, remember my question posed to the forum in another Focus RS thread, where I asked whether the RS would make use of torque limiting software for 1st and 2nd gears as per the Mazda 3 MPS? I was right about that too...

The Focus is getting praise all over, but sadly I could never drive such a car here in England due to the image of the typical buyer of these cars. BMW need to bring on the 135i super sport to cater to those not wanting to be put in the same basket as boy racers. I'd happily drive an Audi S3 though as it's more "tasteful"

Totally agree, while the RS is one of the best hatches i'd gladly take a S3 or 1er over it anyday,it just screams high school image.

So the secret is out, the Revnknuckle front suspension is very similar to the one in the Renault. Are there any noticable difference between the 2 in terms of the mechanical design?
