![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A mass market, dull looking family saloon (so you know it's not an EVO or WRX STi we are talking about here), capable to keep up with Corvettes, M3s and 911s of the time. Proper Q-car (sleeper) this one, then? Apart from the bigger air intake on the front bumper and the almost imperceptible "4WS 2.0i DOHC 16V Intercooler Turbo" badges; The VR4 barely looked any more different from the other less powered Galant models. And that's a good thing, I reckon. It means you can drive a high-performance saloon without attracting too much attention from the authorities and the car thieves. I'm pretty sure you can find one of these for very little money and still in decent shape.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Who needs you Rs6s', M5s or E63's when you have Galant Powerrrr ![]() Thats actually pretty impressive for and old car, but the body roll seriously needs sorting out (stiffer suspension right away) ![]()

I'm not saying this is the ultimate wolf in sheep's clothing, I'm pretty sure there are better candidates to this title. But my point is that you really have to admire, when a mass market manufacturer grabs one of its boring family saloons and then shove a lot of power into it and yet they barely change anything from the exterior to differentiate the high performance model from the bog standard models. ![]() The recipe to make a Q-car is very simple. -You start with an underrated if not boring family car from a mass market brand. ![]() -Then you shove a powerful engine under the bonnet. ![]() -Then in order to enhance the grip, you lower it and stiffen up the suspension, add bigger wheels, better brakes, a limited slip differential and perhaps even a four wheel drive system. ![]() -Don't bother trying to make it looking more aggressive. Just add a tiny almost invisible badge denominating "this is no ordinary 1.9 TDI" and two exhaust tips, but not too much "in your face" if you know what I mean. OK... powerful engine, enhanced driving dynamics and discreet exterior. Now, we have our resulting "stealth missile". ![]() Sorry if I almost bored you to death, but I'm a sucker for Q-cars.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That's great kowalkski, but in all honesty, there is something about the old school design of that Mitsu that I like. The passat on the other hand....blah. It's just so F__king uninspiring that I'd rather beat my head in with a dictionary than be in that car.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Apart from the M5 badge and the dual exhausts, it looked very similar to the casual 525i.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You could say the current 335i is a Q-car. ![]() Very fast and yet it could be easily mistaken with a 320d.
