Don't wish that. Sat in the new A4? It's crap. Lol ok so it's not crap, but it's certainly not great. New Audi interiors look good on paper, not so much in person. At least this A6 still has a real quality interior.

C'mon Klie. Say something we don't know you already think, huh You'd probably take a Fiat 126p interior over any Audi interior!

The Merc interior looks best to me, classy and warm with a nice flow to it. The BMW exterior design still looks good after many years, a testament to the BMW designers, the E39 looked great for its entire run and still looks good on the street. I just do not like the Audi front end, it has not aged well. I also think the A6 looks dated inside, although it is well done.

The Audi's interior design is the most dated and least-progressive of the three. It shows the least imagination combined with dashboard surface shapes reminiscent of 90's interiors.

The BMW's interior set the bar. The Merc's surpassed it.

The Audi interior is a clean, simple, understated and unpretentious design. It makes me feel cool, calm and composed (whereas the BMW interior makes me angry). That's why it's my favourite by a long shot.

Not even close! It's closer to the Nissan Sentra and prev-gen Subaru Legacy.

Well I was merely joking, but the wrapping dash including dials, with the GPS, so high and then slopping down and including the whole center console, does remind me a lof of the e36.

Replace the heater grille by the GPS, link it with the dials, and you have the basic A6 dash, don't you find?

However, everything can be linked to something that has been done before in a way or another, so...

I would rate the W212 interior first, A6 second, and 5er third (doesn't give me the "you're at home" feeling I'm looking for in a car.)

I agree with your association of form. Don't you think this is even more similar in silhouette / shape?

I also feel the same that some things can be associated with a previous thing or another - especially car interiors.

The last thing I want though, is for an interior to say "You're at home". I rather it said "You're in a car". Heh heh...
