Well, if you just evaluate the car itself and disregard things like price and warranty in the area it's quite a bigger gap in this test.

And it might as well be compared to the M3 just as well as the 335 is not compared to the A4 3.2 (which is the same price). The BMW does not always have to be the cheapest an least powerfull in a comparison you know

Its still a old car with the same platform, with a facelift you are not changing the car from scratch. Its just some minor updates, mostly cosmetics. E90 is new but nowhere new as the A4. You can bet your bony white butt (

The S4 competes with the 335i.

The 3.2 will be phased out.

In US MB C350 competes with 335i. In Sweden 335i is cheaper than C350. What it competes with depends on wich country you live in.
But I agree S4 is no M3 competitior.

IMO S4 is more special than a 335i + S4 have sport diff. Thats something 335i lacks and I hate BMW for it.
