"I can tell you now by next year the E-Klasse's current moment in the spotlight will be very shortlived. We know what to expect and what they can , will sacrifice , will improve and will advance on . When we get the first cars per agreement we will see how much we have to do , of course everything may be counterproductive and we wont have to do much or maybe a lot more than expected. But we have a good idea where the 5er is going . 5er is one of the most exciting projects at BMW currently because 5er has a very excellent indication of what it interprets to the driver . And in this forthcoming generation we have clothed the new 5er in a more dynamic sporting body. Everything will indicate that this will be a very sporting and dynamic car to drive even the suspension and technology will enhance it's sporting intentions and of course todays 5er is very efficient in both petrol and diesel , but we will enhance this further with the new model and from the beginning offer a mild hybrid option for our customers. The 5er has to be good because it provides the basis for our class leading performance sedan the M5 and you need a good deal of chassis development before we hand the car over to the M Division." |

Both brands are returning to their strengths. MB stressing luxury, comfort, typical MB sturdiness / massiveness. While BMW are returning to more sporty / sleek / elegant styling again ... "an athlete in a designer suit". It will be again about personal preferences: which character / styling fits you best. Regarding the more exclusivity, more space, more ambiental atmosphere - BMW will offer the PAS car. With 4 or 5 seats. Lots of space, versatility, and more relaxing sitting position (compared to typical sporty low sitting position). IMO PAS will be quite a rival to E sedan & model-T among women, elderly & taxi drivers. ![]()

Product manager for BMW 5er/6er Programme. Marketing, I dont drink Champagne .... More of a shot of Jägermeister dropped in a glass into a large glass of redbull type of guy. That's energy for you. I am a man of few words... But deep down you know the above is true.... ![]()
