Yeah, me too. 2,1 seconds faster than E 63 on Hockenheim is impressive nevertheless.

Yup, the added weight by the quattro system & the twin turbos makes it even more impressive.

4WD is the most effective (and dull) layout on track. Since we are talking about fat OEM cars, weight is not that much of an issue... both cars are ½ a tonne overweight anyway.

Yes, Your Majesty!

AWD can help but I'm not sure if it gives very much benefit over RWD on a track unless the conditions get slippery. Furthermore, isn't the RS6 quite a bit heavier than the E 63? The heavy turbo engine makes the RS6 nose-heavy which has been mentioned in the tests if I'm not mistaken(?). Hockenheim has many straights where the RS6 can benefit from its power advantage but over two second gap is still impressive IMO.

Nevertheless I would probably take an M5 instead. The SMG might be slightly annoying in everyday use and the RS6 might be faster on some tracks but I don't think anything else offers as much fun on the track as the M5.

Re: Comparison test: Audi RS6 and the Mercedes E63 AMG

In the first two gears of the E63 AMG the person does short shift at 6000rpm...not that it makes a difference because the RS6 is bound to be quicker with all that power. Still the video of the RS6 is amazing!

When DR tested both C63 T and RS6 avant, they said that u really have to work the RS6 to it's absolute limits to pass the C63.

Shows the difference between new(C63) and old (E63)

Watch it again, the RS6 Avant was over 3 seconds faster per lap than the C63 T.
And don't say it was because of the 580hp, because the C63 won the dragraces in the same item.
