1st place: 2010 BMW 750i (677 / 750 points)
Verdict: Agile, dynamic and roomy, the new BMW 750i edges out the S class by a mere 1 point. The suspension comfort is average but it makes up for this fault with comfortable and ergonomically shaped seats.

3rd place: Lexus LS460 (621 / 750 points)
Verdict: The LS lacks the agility of its European rivals and furthermore falls behind in overall comfort. The brakes are weak and need improvement. On the plus side it comes well equipped and is very quiet.

LOL, They gave the Lexus what it deserved. Lexus needs to realize that using Toyota parts is not the way to go.

lexsus: Navigation system not accessible during driving

This was a complaint that even Auto Motor und Sport mentioned when they examined Audi's MMI, Mercedes COMMAND and Lexus Navigation system in a review. The Lexus navigation system can only be accessed when the car is at a full stop. Apparently this was done as a "safety feature and because of American consumer demand" according to AMS. In Europe something like that would be viewed with annoyance because people want to be able to switch destinations during driving - or let the co-passenger do it etc.

When this Autobild review hits the stores, I'll make sure to scan it. Unless Ree beats me to it (as usual).

I'm interested in the fuel economy figures of the BMW and the others.

Kind of true, in my opinion at least. I've checked out both the LS460 and LS600h in detail in the local Lexus dealership and at Geneva and I honestly didn't see what the rave was all about. The Audi A8, MB S-Class and now the new 7-Series just blow it away by a long shot in my opinion. Even the old 7er had a better interior. Just my opinion.

Ever sat in the LS??? This conclusion is hardly surprising to me, since the Lexus is nothing more than a fancy hard plastic Toyota interior.

It's becasue of the Twin Turbo that the fuel economy is good. Wouldn't be so good with a NA engine

In the pics, the S-Class looks completly bland and boring. Poor rims and colour. That car needs always the AMG pack. The Audi still looks good, but obviously is loosing with the years.

The lexus poor, I´ve never liked it, ad the BMW looks excellent, and has the better engine and exterior design. But it only beats Mercedes by one point, I wonder what is going to happen when the FL S-Class is launched.

^ I was thinking the same thing....BMW is much better in terms of driving dynamics, but the comfort is only slightly better and that is what the reviewers are paying more attention to in this class.... I have no doubts anymore now that the S facelift will come on top again in terms of sheer comfort. It will not beat the dynamics or looks, but it will be more comfortable.

And one more thing....the A8 looks dull and old compared to the others....even the Lexus (exterior only)

It's coz of all raving about it in the US market so i thought so,apparently me and the US customers were wrong

The 7er is a great effort but saldy it falls behind in the key element of that segment which is comfort,in that segment that's all that matters.There's a reason why MB makes the S the most comfy of them all
