The suspension comfort is average but it makes up for this fault with comfortable and ergonomically shaped seats. +Best agility and handling in class +Very roomy +Characterful engine +Interior workmanship +Good fuel economy +Very comfortable seats -Average comfort -Hard suspension -Luggage compartment relatively small 2nd place: Mercedes S500 (676 / 750 points) Verdict: The S class is the most comfortable car in this comparison. It is quiet, roomy, refined and handles well. Price and costs are high though. A car that does everything right and nothing wrong. +Very comfortable +Very roomy +Interior workmanship +Great engine +Very large trunk and payload capacity -Expensive prices and costs -Fuel economy 3rd place: Lexus LS460 (621 / 750 points) Verdict: The LS lacks the agility of its European rivals and furthermore falls behind in overall comfort. The brakes are weak and need improvement. The Lexus navigation system can only be accessed when the car is at a full stop. Apparently this was done as a "safety feature and because of American consumer demand" according to AMS. In Europe something like that would be viewed with annoyance because people want to be able to switch destinations during driving - or let the co-passenger do it etc. When this Autobild review hits the stores, I'll make sure to scan it. Unless Ree beats me to it (as usual). ![]() I'm interested in the fuel economy figures of the BMW and the others.

I've checked out both the LS460 and LS600h in detail in the local Lexus dealership and at Geneva and I honestly didn't see what the rave was all about. The Audi A8, MB S-Class and now the new 7-Series just blow it away by a long shot in my opinion. Even the old 7er had a better interior. Just my opinion. ![]()

That car needs always the AMG pack. The Audi still looks good, but obviously is loosing with the years. The lexus poor, I´ve never liked it, ad the BMW looks excellent, and has the better engine and exterior design. But it only beats Mercedes by one point, I wonder what is going to happen when the FL S-Class is launched. |

I have no doubts anymore now that the S facelift will come on top again in terms of sheer comfort. It will not beat the dynamics or looks, but it will be more comfortable. And one more thing....the A8 looks dull and old compared to the others....even the Lexus (exterior only)
