By that time there will be a new S-Class which will trump any facelited 7 or A8.

Well if money wasnt a object the s would win and i dont think in this leage a few thousand rands ,pounds or dollars make a difference.
Also to me the s class is the most elegant and classy looking off them both interior and exterior i beleive that the new 7 is a great car and a great improvement but i think even without the face lift the s is still the car in this category is elegant .classy and the most comfatable and i think the safest car in the class on my own experience the s class is just flawless a great car and in my view the king off the luxury segment .but the 7er is very close for the audi and lexus i think they way behind

IMO the A8 doesn't look dated,it still manages to look timeless and elegant next to others,definitely one of my fav Audis ever

Audi S8 looks fantastic but the normal A8 dont look as good as the S8. Normal just look to plain for me.

If you really look closely, the Lexus interior is rather cheap compared to the 7, S, and A8. Small details, like the way the interior door panels attach to the doors is crappy, and while the design is okay at best, the buttons look like they came from a SONY alarm clock.

I disagree. The AMG package makes the S-Class look sporty and elegant, but that's it. The regular W221 looks very classy but conservative - which is something your typical S-Class buyer wants. Remember, these cars aren't sold to 20 year old driving enthusiasts with other priorities. And those S-Class drivers that want something sporty can always go for an AMG or order the AMG styling etc.

Looks classy and elegant to me.
