This is a major issue to many.

Other than that I thik it is really nice that Cadillac has picked up the gauntlet. They have had the same approach towards the task as have Corvette - performance first and when that is sorted, who knows, maybe fit will follow?

I'm feeling "patriotic" so I'll take the Caddy.

No, you not dreaming. 5-series are too large for me and I want the sportiest car. Besides, the M5 is old now and I see at least two M5's everyday.

Who has no respect for CTS-V and Cadillac for everything they've achieved with this car is... Oh well, i think you know.

I know they have mine, a lots of it.

Re: Edmunds Comparison Test: 2008 BMW M5 vs. 2009 Cadillac CTS-V vs. 2009 Mercedes-Be

Shouldn't they have used the BMW M3 Sedan instead of the M5? The CTS-V and C63 AMG would be the natural competitors to that model and not an M5.

Didn't read the article yet and I'll be signing off now. It's exam week here and I am busy as hell!

Right because let me guess, they're an American organization and that makes them clueless? Typical response.

Re: Edmunds Comparison Test: 2008 BMW M5 vs. 2009 Cadillac CTS-V vs. 2009 Mercedes-Be

If I may interject here for some reasoning...

I think that the fact that Edmunds has come to this conclusion is fairly significant for Cadillac. However, I would stop there with any more praise. What gives Edmunds the final say so in which one is the best? Who cares what they have to say after they present their data? The fact is that Cadillac has created a car that can play with the likes of the M3 or M5 and that is something everyone should be proud of. Whether or not you think it's number one or number two or three is irrelevant because that comes down to personal preference.

There are some that will never buy a Cadillac because of its reputation or whatever you want to point out, it's American ya ya ya. But I think that this is a small group of people, perhaps largely represented here? (I don't really know to be honest?). But hey plenty of other people will find the Cadillac just right. And with a price like that they will have enough money to pimp it out g status with 20s and what not.

No, because GM aimed the CTS-V at the M5 in particular, and the CTS at the E-Class/5-Series/A6 in general. These are the most similar in size, and have been even with the previous generation CTS. Cadillac will have a smaller-platformed car (Alpha) to compete directly in C-Class/3-Series territory.
