When they are done counting, they will probably respond with an SUV to match the sedan count of Audi.

Re: Audi S5 tackles BMW 335i

As I said before if the 335i want to keep up with the AWD powered S5 on a a tight track the 335i need the 326hp/450nm engine update but most if all a proper LSD. Probably not going to happen in a near future though and not many 335i owners are going to track their 335i's so no rush here.
The M3 is BMWs flagshiep and the much cheaper 335i cant come too close in performance to the M3 for a lot less money.

It is for this reason that I have a slight sense of humour failure when the episode is mentioned.
haha, no problem friend. I view 5th gear almost on the same level as top gear australia.

There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Audi A5, especially the S5, has increased Audi value much more than any other car bar the R8... more than the RS4 even. The S5 is a car that is more attainable to the public, pretty and is very fast on top of that.

Imo, this segment, the midsize coupes were the E92, CLK and A5 fight is the most fierce battle out there. Add the Infinity G37 and equivalent Lexus and you have a recipe for a huge battle.

Except, there is no Lexus in this category.

I know, but I'll bet you 5 bucks and a five guys hamburger that there's one in the making. This segment is just way too hot to not be in it. Unless they think the convertible is good enough.

Just smile, it was intended as pure irony

BMW does have the sportiest baseline of the Germans, no doubt, but they have lost a few fun cars the last 6 months - CSL and CS.

Let's hope that some of the mid-range sportiness is regained with the tii nomenclature.

With Lexus I doubt it. Their track record on anything other than sedans and SUVs is dismal. The original SC300/400 were brilliant cars during their day, but Lexus let them go on for nearly 10 years unchanged. Ditto for the current SC430, which sorta competes with the CLK550 Cabrio, getting its teeth kicked out in the process. LOL.....I'll take that bet because Lexus is so lame in the coupe area and they always try to kill 2 birds with one stone and always fail miserably. In short the new IS350/250 Coupe/Convertibles are all you're going to get IMO. In their mind the IS CC will handle both the coupes and convertibles in the segment, but we all know it won't even come close. The G37 Convertible for starters looks much better. No need to even mention the gorgeous European coupes and convertibles in the segment.

There was talk of a 6-Series competitor, but there has been nothing about that in years. The next 2-door from Lexus will be the LFA (production name GT-F) if it ever gets to production.
