That standard 7 speed automatic used in many AMG Mercedes 55 and 65 models is not the most efficient thing in the world that's for sure. This assuming Kleemann did not change it for their own version.

^the 65´s use a 5 speed auto
and the 7speed is not the standard,its tuned for AMG..
and then there is MCT (SL63)

PS
But yes to answer you question i dont think they touched the gearbox.. it should be a 7 speed AMG
