Re: '08 BMW 335i vs. '04 MB E55 AMG

Lol@ best coupe ever, the E92 is a gorgeous looking coupe hands down but IMO it certainly not the best looking out there,i would easilt take the S5 over 335i on looks alone IMO of course.

My vote goes for the monster E55,the torque, grunt, pull and the noise are pretty enough for me to pick over even M5,not to mention a few software tweaks and the car pushes well over 580hp and then u got yourself a rocket

Definitely the Mercedes...

E55 is one of the best cars ever built, good looking and not really a old car... still love it

This choice is very easy. 335i all the way over that old E55.

Dynamic Traction Control (DTC)

Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) is an adjunct to Dynamic Stability Control. When driving on loose gravel or snow, activating DTC increases traction by increasing the tolerance for wheel slip, enabling the BMW 3 Series Convertible to gain better traction. Drivers who appreciate a more sporting driving style can activate DTC to allow for controlled wheel skid, or "drift". DSC takes a back seat and intervenes only when absolutely necessary. If desired, DSC can be completely deactivated.

Re: '08 BMW 335i vs. '04 MB E55 AMG

Both highly desireable cars and the BMW is a new car, but I love the E-Class so I'd take the E55 by a nose. It has to be a low-mileage, well-maintained E55 though. It can't be one that has been beaten to death on the highway or tracked. Otherwise the "new" car makes more sense.

Re: '08 BMW 335i vs. '04 MB E55 AMG

It completely depends what you are willing to pay for after you get the car:

Benz:
More to maintain
More gas
Insurance?

BMW:
Fresher car
Better handling
Better looking imo

While everyone is mentioning how the E55 can make insane power (which it does), you cannot forget how tunable the 335i... and this is in the early stage of its life. Cars are already pushing 400hp... keep the car for a few more years and I guarantee you that these cars will be making even more power that your head will hurt.
