Could also be related to the top speed difference.

Neither reached their top speeds going around the track.

If my memory serves me well, you don't have to get to the top speed before the governor kicks in. I believe it stops the engine from revving beyond a certain limit.

Re: Nürburgring-duell: X6 killed Cayenne GTS!

Nürburgring-Nordschleife times:
1. 8.54,4 min (max. 240,9 km/h) - X6
2. 9.01,9 min (max. 228,1 km/h) - Cayenne GTS

GPS-topspeed:
1. 263 km/h - Cayenne GTS
2. 252 km/h - X6 (limited)

I don't understand where you are going with this neither of them hit their top speed or limiter, check bold.

Re: Nürburgring-duell: X6 killed Cayenne GTS!

Mind this is duel between:

new model vs 6 years old model
standard V8 model vs modified sporty model

Wait until X6 M hits ...
Or at least X6 with M-package.

Porsche will have to work hard to make the new GTS much sportier - closer to X6 M.

When the X6 M shows up, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S will be waiting.

Turbo has no sporty tuned chassis, brakes etc like GTS!

While X6 M will be a complete package. Got the point?

I consider the X5 to be the standard V8 model from BMW.
