This must be the biggest "no brainer" in history.

The Cayman, but only by the narrowest of margins. The TTS is a more than worthy competitor and the entire review describes why this is so. It doesn't read like a "no brainer" to me.

I have driven a Cayman S and on the whole I agree with the writer's comments. I have yet to try the TTS.

To me it is. The TTs can't touch the Cayman S where it matters and that could not have come as a surprize to anyone.

They are comparing it to the 245 bhp Cayman.

Good point, but since raw engine power has very little to do with what makes the Cayman so great that circumstance will make less of a difference than one might think.

Re: Enemy Within: Audi TT-S vs. Porsche Cayman

I've re-read the review again to make sure I'm not imagining things, and sorry but I just can't see the outcome of this comparison as a "no-brainer". The whole tone of the review suggests that the writer considers the TTS to be a worthy competitor to the Cayman. Yes, the latter is very special and I'm not trying to take anything away from it, but its margin of victory over the TTS isn't massive considering its superior mid-engined handling balance. The TTS has a better interior and to some (I know of several) this is more important than the nth degree of driving dynamics which, for the most part, is irrelevant 95% of the time on congested, rain soaked, 'safety' camera-infested British roads. In absolute terms yes, the Porsche may be the better 'driver's car' but to quote the review the Audi "will offer far more performance over a twelve month period on UK roads..."

Yes, the Audi is probably the better car for all year commuting in three feet of snow or four inches of rain... but, who buys a car like this with those things in mind? This type of car is bought with sunny happy days in mind, not for rainy, two degrees above zero, Audi weather days... oh, maybe the TTS is...
