Yeah after being reminded of that vs. CLS video I am not so sure anymore. It seems the M5 is good for 12.9-13.4 sec runs which might not be enough to edge the SL63. But road & track got the M5 through in 12.4@190km/h so I was thinking of this time when making judgments.

My money on the SL63,more torque and LC present in the new MCT.

^^Wasn't aware that the new MB tranny has LC... In that case it could really go either way.... btw, anyone have vids of an M6 vs SL55?

we need to get an M5 with a good driver, an SL63 and a camera.... I am curious about the outcome.

That might be the case but the price you pay is a tranny that bucks with kick-back like a mechanical bull. If I`m running at speeds like this smooth shifting is very improtant, even if it is 0.20 second slower!

Its not the speed that makes the car jerky. Thats how the SMG behave. IMO very racing inspired and fun for active driving. Hopefully some jerkiness exist with DCT in setting six.

I understand a dragrace is 402 meters. But from rolling start, how long is the distance they'll be driving?

It is on the AMG website. .82 for 6th and .73 for 7th.
