Let's not forget that Lexus shamelessly ripped off so many styling cues from the current BMW 7-Series. BMW is simply following their design evolution here so if it looks like Lexus it's because Lexus used many styling cues from the current E60 7er.

^IMO^

These rear lights on recent German cars really don't do it for me ...C class, Passat Coupé, and now the BMW 7.

Hmm, do you really see so many 7er cues in the LS?

Lexus definitely is taking inspiration from similar sources ...but I think the Lexus has got its own look.

Yeah. The hype from Scott about various executives applauding their hands until they got numb or what ever was very exaggerated, and the same applies to various other things he wrote. Thankfully I never eat into it since I knew it was pure hype propaganda.

Looking at images of the S-class it still looks desirable as ever. And with the facelift coming up sporting a revised front end with a more striking bumper and grill the F01 won't be standing in the spot light for too long.
