Here's a picture of me punishing the 118i at 220 km/h. We reached 230 km/h too, almost reached 235 km/h too.

Photo was taken by forum member Alok when we returned from a day trip at the 'Ring. You can ask him, he saw the needle at 230 km/h later just like the other dude in the back (forgot his name).

I was not questioning u chris,it's weird that 320i only goes to 210-215km max,must be great deal heavier than 1er

Don't worry about.

I suspect the 318i or 320i you drove are probably limited to 210 km/h. I know the German brands do this for some of their US-spec cars so it is possibly the case for Egyptian-spec cars too.

If you want to have some serious fun you need to come to Germany.

To Ree: yeah i think it might be different ratios but i thought since all locally made 320i have auto tranny as standard it might be the same as the one in chris's car.

To Chris:i for sure must come to Germany and drive Egyptian style on the autobahn that should be loads of fun

My speedo has shown 235km/h but then I had to brake for another car. So I guess I can reach 240km/h on the speedo if I try longer.
Unlike Chris I have no photo to proove it though

A few months ago I was blasting down from Marktl am Inn to my town on the Autobahn and I reached 235 km/h. The RPM wasn't even redlined yet meaning I still could have gotten it up to at least 240 km/h or possibly even higher.

The only thing from hindering me are the traffic conditions on the Autobahn and the fact that at this speed the 118i is struggling to accelerate. Once you reach 200 km/h the car really accelerates very slowly - even with the pedal fully depressed.
