Should be easy...

When you have the word "first" or "innovation" and then the word "car" in the same sentence, it's always followed by "Mercedes-Benz S-Class".

If you like maths, it's:

new or innovation + car = MB S-Class.

Not at the same level as the S-Class, that can't be denyed...

But I did not said that to start an argument, just a kind of joke...which is not untrue. It's just fact. No other car in the history has ever brought so many groundbreaking innovations to the automotive world.

Yes, thatīs it, for example, what was the first car having a central unit where you can control the main functions of the car?, of course the S Class, oh no, no no, im wrong, it was the 7er. Or another example, do you remember when BMW copied Mercedes having the E65 the same interior desing than the S Class?, oh my god! another time im wrong, it was mercedes who copied BMW with the same interior desing og the W221 than the 7er.

When the next S Class comes with the gear selector back to the central tunel, of having a more integrated COMAND dash screen we will talk. But, for the momento, Mercedes fans speak much and loud, more than the should.

Re: F01 / F02 BMW 7er - Spy Pics & Info Part IV (first FEP pics incl.!!!)

Like I said, I don't want to start an argument about that. If you don't want to recognize the S-Class as it should, then it's all right.

(for info, central knob with high-positionned central screen, first seen on a MB Concept car, 1996 Vario-Concept. Estimated not ready for launch in 1998 for the W220 by MB given the available electronics. And no other MB had the right to feature it before the S-Class).

-First crash-tests ever
-Safety steering (the steering is cut in the middle and is broken by the shock, so thazt the steering does not move and kill the driver in case of a crash,
-crash zone and safety passenger cell,
-safety dash and steering wheel (smooth surfaces, not hurting in case of a shock with the passengers)
-safety door-locks (the door does not open when the car crashes, and can be opened easily even if the door is deformed by the crash)
-ABS,
-diesel-particle filter (W126 300SD for the States),
-ESP,
-airbags,
-Distronic (the cruise-control brakes when a car is slower in front of the car)
-Distronic+ with emergency braking even if the cruise control is not active, and can brake alone without driver intervention, can stop the car completely. If the cruise-control is activated, the car can brake and throttle completely alone in a stop-and-go situation like a traffic jam.
-Pre-Safe (the car prepares the passengers' seat and closes windows and sunroof before the crash),
-LED brake lights (the only important LEDs because it's mainly for the braking lights that the faster response of a LED is really an advantage),
-Keyless-Go system,
-LED indicators in the mirrors,
-seat control in shape of a seat,
-voice control...
-thin layers of wood and plastic and aluminium instead of just wood parements, so that in case of a crash the wood does not split dangerously but is able to deform itself

Surely I'm forgetting some.

But that's not the point here. It's absolutely clear that almost every major innovation of today's cars come from the S-Class.

The S-Class may have introduced some very interesting innovations, but it is very boring to read a few Mercedes fans complaining and complaining about the F01 just because they like more the W221.

Itīs just a matter of education and respect, why do i have to read those thing on a topic wich is about the F01?. I only complain about that. Itīs not right to enter on a topic and EVERYTIME that you (not you, the people who do this) post something put behin "But still behind of the S-Class", or "Night vision works extremely well on the 7er and on the S-Class, (not as good on the 7er than on the S Class). Why?.

So that is my complaining, btw i own an E Class, i have had both BMWs and Mercs, but there are things that the Merc fans do that realy bothers me.
