They have been around for over 70 years now. Lexus = Toyota and will always be. Nice enough cars but they have absolutely no soul what so ever.

Not sure about it but didn't the 7 series introduce the V12 before the S class ?

V12's had been in production cars long before either the 7 or S introduced theirs.

What about multi-link rear suspension wasn't Mercedes the first out the door with that? I remember it was a big deal when the W201 debuted.

That came from Ferrari F1s from ~1950, if I'm not mistaken.

Those don't sound like production cars.

Huh? Lexus? What did they do? They took somethings from the Maybach, some from the S-class and a few things from the 7 series.

What in the world is innovative about that? Oh the self parking feature. Doesn't the CL have that too. Might work differently, but the same thing.

Lexus watched the German for years. They used there designs, technology and applied Toyotas dependablitiy.

Nothing special. Other then being dependable and cheaper they have no real advantage.

BUT...I will give them 2 points for their hybrids (toyota did most of the work) and having a good sales record.
