This is confusing, when 5th gear,TG and MSN UK tested the C63 they all said that the trans in manual mode doesn't shift when u hit the red line it stays there to allow better involvement so what those guys are doin?!

The testers did not engage the "M" (manual) mode of the transmission. If they did, the transmission will not upshift even if you bounce off the rev limiter, and it will not downshift even if you kickdown. It's like this in my C55. They probably left it in "S" mode, where it is automatic, but you still can choose your gears with the paddles or shift knob. In this mode, the car will automatically upshift if you approach the redline.

Indeed it is. That's the Advanced Agility Package. I've seen quite a few online ads for C-Class's equipped with this. Early on, I recall it was announced that it would be available as an option later on for the C63, but I haven't heard much about it since. Sports Car International apparently drove a C63 with such a system last year. (This car is also shod with Yokohama Advans, a configuration I have not seen before).

I just read that article again. I honestly think the journalist writing that article is mistaken. What he is referring to is the transmission setting (S, C, or M). Unlike cars with ABC (like the S63/S65/CL63/CL65/SL63/SL65, where the suspension settings ARE linked with the S/C/M button), the S/C/M button only controls the transmission settings in the 2008 model year C63, and it does NOT have any effect on the suspension. There is absolutely NO indication from any official MB press release about ANY form of adjustable suspension/dampers for the 2008 C63. And other than this Sport Car International article, I have not seen any other magazine saying the suspension is adjustable. I think the Sports Car International article is simply incorrect. The C63 (at least for model year 2008) does NOT have any adjustable suspension.

I remember reading that AMG decided against putting adjustable suspension in the C63 to save on costs.

Thanks for that info. I wasn't sure of that myself, so that's why I put in the "apparently" part. And I having never seen any other article mention the dampers like that, I figure they might have made a mistake. But then I've never seen the word "luxurious" (and rarely "comfortable") in describing the C63's ride either... Or those tires, for that matter.

As for cost, I'm wondering how much more it would be considering even the lower-end (non AMG) C-Class models already have it. The C63 is their most intensively developed AMG product so it would be a shame not to have it.
