It`s a no brainer for me also. Who in his right mind could pass up a sports sedan with more room, more power exc.. for 30Gs.

I`d say GM has come a long way as a whole. Love the new Chevy cars and pickups as well, very nice indeed..

That means you would take it over the E-Class?

For a car to use everyday, the answer is yes!






You have to admit.. it has a world class look.. on top of that the Germans don`t look this good in standard trim. You have to deck them out in sport packages..

I have to admit that the ext is looking great while the interior just doesn't match it!

G8, very nice. The E550 has more HP than the G8 and is faster overall.

I've seen many of these Pontiac commercials on TV, its good to see American auto manufacturers try to improve their image and products, but I would still go German if I had the choice. If I wanted to save $, I'd go Japanese.

I like the G8 a lot and I'm now seeing them on the street. The only thing about the GXP version is that a 40hp difference might not be worth the extra cost, but we'll see.

Well, I don't think so, this car was designed and engineered entirely in Australia, by Holden and their engineers. GM has nothing to do with it.

Holden is an Australian company, owned by GM.


We have cars like the Pontiac G8 in Australia for decades, it has taken GM a long time to see the light.

Dude, wake up! To say GM had nothing to do with it is quite ludicrous as Holden is hardly an independent operation working under the GM umbrella - it is very much a part of the GM company. The Commodore and LWB Statesman were built with other markets in mind - do you think GM would allow Holden to produce the car with no outside imput? In today's heavily globalised world?

And the engines, gearbox and much of the mechanicals are all sourced from GM. Hardly the picture of "engineered entirely in Australia" Holden + the aussie car press would like us to believe


Again, none of these cars were completely independent Holden jobs, and many were nothing more than a thinly veiled rebadge (80's Holdens sourced from Opel, etc). Most were crap too, which I hope you agree with
