Another car came out in my mind: the GTI. This is really endless.
If you don't want to wait for the FL and Hybrid the S320CDI would be way to go.

I do agree.
On other terms, why not go for the new A4? It will surprise you how big it is. And the the 3.0 TDI is an amazing engine.
So you'll get a new car, best in it's class, with a good handling and accelerationa and of course good economy.

Re: Dad's looking for a daily driver to replace A8 - suggestions?

hey sorry for such a late reply well the c class teh c220cdi is absolotly fanatstic car its apleasure to drive especailly in city so easy to park and manouver it really is a fun easy car to drive and live with well the consumption is very very good on the c220cdi and i think it has ample power for city driving if you need more power go for a c320cdi that i beleive is a monster off a car.overall the c is superb and built solid and let me tell you it handles brilliantly yesterdai idrove on a 20km stretch windy and curvy raod and it was absoluetly amazing never driven a merc that handles so well apart from the c63 and yet the car is so comfortable.

on the other cars i think the suv is bit heavy on fuel the e and 5er are going to change soon iwe also have a s 350 at home and if you thinking of a car that size think no futher it is the most amazing car ever alos if you not in a hurry wait for the facelift which is soon hope this helps

Re: Dad's looking for a daily driver to replace A8 - suggestions?

Are you really going from a big A8 to a small A4 or a C-CLASS?

Stay with the big guns, S-class, lexus, 7er or maybe a used Bentley Contiental?

Still difficult!! I would definitely keep the Maserati!! Special car, extremely high fall of value and as you already mentioned, you're family has a "special realtionship" to this car. I would still think, that downgrading is a possible way to go. But right now, I have absolutely no new ideas…

You echo all of my sentiments ree. Think we'll just "wait-and-see" for now. Lots of fun stuff coming up, especially the F01 and the new E.
