Again the M3 is a massive 5 secs faster than C63. Surprised that the IS-F is slightly faster than the C63, I would have expected C63 to have the edge.

The Benz is simply too heavy.

Curb weight:

M3: 3652 lb
IS-F:3817 lb
C63: 4004 lb

That also explains why it only has a slight lead in acceleration too. I wonder why the C63 is so heavy. When Black Series time comes the C63 needs to lose about 450lbs and get the full 525hp of the high-end AMG cars.

According to the track map, the C63 is faster than IS-F, so not sure which is correct, the map or the table.
Love the comment on the track map, "M3 is turning this into a farce". The other 2 seems to be trading positions.

I'm pretty sure the lap chart is the correct version, but I too am surprised by the IS-F's lap time. Seems to be a very strong first-ever effort by Lexus at competing on this level. To be within a second of the C63, knowing Mercedes' intent for this car, is simply impressive.

I wonder where those M3 DCT reviews are. The new gearbox should make the M3 a even better car.

So far the M3 is winning 90% of comparos only with manual, it'll be even better as you say with DCT, which means it still remains the benchmark in it's class. 'Nuff said!

Holy crap! That's one technical little track that... it does lack a fast, flat-out sweep though.

Looks department, the MB wins in the rear while the M3 wins in the front. In terms of what car I would rather have, M3 by far. It's winning tests like the E46 did. The M3 sedan, coupled with the dual clutch transmission would make this an ideal family car for me. That's why I've always argued for cars that allow you to set everything to your liking.

And for your viewing pleasure (from another test though):

P.S. I wouldn't pick the CF leather trim with black leather. It's just too dark. This is much more like it:
