Just like that Viper would do compared to something like a Ferrari FXX. We have to remember that the poor European cars only have 530 hp (Superleggera) and 415 hp (GT3 RS) compared to the very non-standard ACR.

I have never seen a track figure that close between a Gallardo Spyder and a GT3 RS... not that twisty track?

The FXX is not street legal and we better not compare the prices of both cars.

If you want a real track car the ACR is the choice. How much do you have to pay for a European car that can equal the ACR's power and track performance?

My point exactly (or almost, the FXX would have spanked the ACR about as bad making the Amerivan cars look slow and more importantly, very ugly). American cars are almost for free, in America that is, and im guessing the ACR would not be street legal in Europe either.

But again the FXX is not streetlegal anywhere in the world and you can only use it in Ferrari meetings and events like that. The ACR is barely more expensive than a standard SRT-10 and with it you can beat almost any European car at the track.

^^^ There are only 2 cars that (performance > price) can do that and they are not European.

Price can never be a point when comparing the state side and Europe. Everything made in the states is very cheap, silly cheap even (that goes for things from Europe on sale in the states too, Porsches are so cheap that if they were on sale here for that price, yours average shop assistant would have no trouble paying for one). Comparing salaries and price most things are half the price, at least.

I get your point but it has nothing to do with who makes the better car. On the other side of the pod almost everything is street legal so if something we have to go by the market with the most rigid regulations on that matter, all else is discriminating the old world.

The FXX would be about as dominating in this test as the ACR is now had it been included - no question. The ACR must be about the badest serial produced car in the US and the FXX is the European dito.

The ACR is road legal where is has to be. Is a shame than in Europe there are so much taxes and restrictions but that is not the ACR's fault (and we don't know if it would not be road legal in Europe too).

The FXX will never be compared to the ACR because it can only be used in Ferrari events. So in the typical American trackday which European car on sale at the moment would you bring to beat the ACR?

Yes it is a real shame.

I do not know what European cars are allowed in the U.S. so that is a hard question to answer. To me it is easier to tell from an European view.

P.S

Seems you can make the FXX street legal in Switzerland.

Re: Road and Track - Comparison Test: Evil Twins

There are many track day specials like Radical and Westfield that would utterly destroy an ACR. And I believe they are even street legal in Europe though not too practical.
